The Back Flash series was born from a return to watercolor painting after a three – year pause. During that time, I chose not to control the medium but to let it guide me – allowing water and pigment to move freely, letting the work unfold in ways I could not predict until I discovered a visual language that resonated with me.

Through layers of watercolor, each work explores how fleeting moments crystallize in experience, shaping identity and preserving memory, with layers of pigment acting like the sediment of time. Abstraction gives rise to images, and images unfold into stories completed by the gaze of the viewer. The works are less about what is seen than about what stays with us – echoes, flashbacks, and the quiet persistence of what cannot be forgotten.
